How to review Search Console data

This introductory guide supports planning; it does not replace inspection of the actual website and its data.

Use comparable windows and filters

Align search type, country, device and date range before comparison. Treat partially processed recent days cautiously.

Clicks, impressions and CTR

More impressions do not always imply greater demand. CTR can change due to ranking shifts and SERP presentation. Split analysis by page and query first.

Investigate opportunities

Flag high-impression low-CTR queries and pages with sustained declines for title, intent and technical review. These are hypotheses, not diagnoses.

Keep a change log

Log content releases, URL changes, canonical updates and technical deployments alongside GSC trends for better follow-up.
